The first SXS Trailriders event for 2024 has been run at Calder Park so we caught up with SXS Trailriders to see how they thought it went.

The very first SXS Trailriders event for 2024 has gone off at Calder park, Victoria with all drivers having a ball. Conditions were prime considering how dry and hot it was and the track that was cut in was loads of fun.

We sat down with the SXS Trailriders team after the event to get their take on it and what we can expect at future events.

  1. What was the aim and motivation for the Calder Park ride?

Calder Park is an iconic motorsport venue that is starting to ramp up again with lots of motorsport activity, it’s great that we were given the green light to create our own side-by-side track for  owners to enjoy. Being its local and there was ample land available made it an attractive venue to add to the social side-by-side calendar

  1. How many people turned up?

The February event was super-hot which is always difficult though we still had 20 – 30 people in total come to drive, spectate and go for passenger rides.

  1. What kind of tracks did you have setup?

Calder is  an off-road enduro track, comprising of a mini motocross track with berms, open flowing grass track with some whoops and more technical four-wheel-drive track combined into one spanning just over six kilometres in distance.

  1. How much riding could everyone do?

The track is open from 9am – 5pm, whereby you can go out and complete a session at your leisure at any time, followed by coming in to grab a drink or have something to eat.

  1. Was it riding as a group or individual?

The riding is individual with passengers being allowed. Although there are groups of side-by-sides on the track at one time. If you want to trailride with a mate following you, you can do that too!

  1. What was included?

We include public liability insurance, recovery vehicle, first aid, officials, lunch, coffee & cold drink facility and track access and an absolute amazing day.

  1. What was the highlight of the day?

Definitely taking spectators for hots laps in our side-by-side and seeing everyone enjoy the day, a really community feel.

  1. Why should people come to the next one?

These events always have great tracks, a great atmosphere, an enjoyable family friendly vibe, and an adrenaline rush for everyone.
