We got our hands on the Polaris Ranger XP1000 and have been testing everything from the towing capability to tray space, mustering and a little play.
Polaris are known for making high-end race side-by-sides but our dirty little secret is that we actually prefer their ag machines. So we were stoked when we were able to pick up a Polaris Ranger XP1000 to test on our cattle farm.
But this was no stock Polaris Ranger XP 1000, it had two winches, a bullbar, windscreen, oversize doors, a tipper tray and bunch of other features to go with the standard package. As for the standard package, the Polaris Ranger XP1000 comes equipped with a 999cc / four-stroke, twin cylinder DOHC engine that pumps out 82hp. It also has Polaris favourite On-Demand True AWD/2WD/VersaTrac Turf Mode. It runs dual A-Arms front and rear with 27.9cm travel with 14-inch black aluminium rims wrapped in 27 x 9-14; Maxxis MU511 tyres.
The tub is rated too carry 454kg, the bed box dimensions (L x W x H) are 93.3 x 137.8 x 31.75 cm and it can officially tow 1,134kg. It holds 43.5L of fuel and has 33cm of ground clearance The total payload is 871kg.
To top it off, the XP1000 gets the premium cut and sew seats, premium steering wheel and interior accents, Polaris pulse electrical system (6 position) and standard in-dash SAE charge port.
