The Kawasaki Mule SX side-by-side is a compact and agile two-passenger vehicle for $14,207. Here all you need to know about it.

The Kawasaki Mule SX features a compact size and a tight turning radius of 3.3 meters, which enhance its ability to navigate through narrow paths and crowded areas. It is powered by a 401 cc 4-stroke single engine that delivers maximum power of 9.2 kW (12.5 PS) at 3,800 rpm and maximum torque of 27.9 Nm (2.8 kgfm) at 2,200 rpm. The engine features an overhead valve (OVH) system and a carburetor fuel system, with magneto and transistor ignition. It is air-cooled and employs a forced lubrication, wet sump system.

The transmission is automatic, providing forward and reverse capabilities. The primary reduction ratio ranges from 3.653 to 0.794 (belt converter), with a forward gear ratio of 2.916 and a reverse gear ratio of 3.750. The final drive is a gear system with a dual-mode differential, and the rear final reduction ratio is 4.000.

The frame of the Kawasaki Mule SX is a ladder-type, tubular steel which supports independent MacPherson strut front suspension and unit swing axle rear suspension. This setup provides front wheel travel of 78 mm and rear wheel travel of 79 mm, offering stability and comfort on rough terrain. Steering is facilitated by a rack and pinion system with a steering angle of 43° inward and 38° outward.
