BRP LAUNCHES ‘BEYOND THE RIDE’ 2030 SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM | LIFESTYLE | News
New global strategy outlines emissions, supply chain and product targets across environment, social and governance.
BRP has announced its new global sustainability strategy, titled Beyond the Ride, outlining a series of environmental, social and governance targets to be implemented through to 2030. The program is designed to guide how the company develops products, operates its facilities and engages with suppliers and communities across its global business.
Under the environmental pillar, BRP has set targets including a 30 percent reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from manufacturing operations, a minimum of 85 percent waste diversion from landfill across all sites, and the development of site-specific plans to reduce freshwater use in water-stressed regions. Within its supply chain, the company aims to introduce carbon metrics into supplier selection by 2028 and ensure suppliers responsible for 70 percent of emissions commit to reduction plans by 2030. Product-related targets include reducing greenhouse gas emissions during use by an average of four percent for each new internal combustion model, expanding electric vehicle offerings and increasing the use of recycled materials.
The program also includes social and governance commitments, with BRP pledging to invest one percent of pre-tax profits into community initiatives, maintain its global “Zero Incident, Zero Impact” workplace safety target, and continue promoting responsible riding practices. Governance measures include annual ethics certification for all permanent office employees and board members, alongside the implementation of standards for responsible use of artificial intelligence within the organisation.
BRP states the Beyond the Ride program is intended to integrate sustainability into daily operations and long-term decision-making, with a focus on incremental improvements across all areas of the business through to the end of the decade.
